Weeds kid releases EP

SILAS BOTWIN SINGS! Hunter Parrish, who plays the older son of Mary-Louise Parker’s Nancy Botwin on Weeds, is moonlighting as an “introspective” singer/songwriter. On Tuesday, the Layer Cake label released his debut EP Guessing Games, five days before the first episode in the Showtime staple’s eighth season. He co-wrote the material with Daniel James and Leah Haywood, who most recently worked with Demi Lovato, Selena Gomez and Nicki Minaj. Turns out the 25-year old has had a career on Broadway, starring in such musicals as Spring Awakening and the most recent revival of Godspell. He’s also appeared in films like It's Complicated, 17 Again and Down in the Valley. and "I have been exploring my taste and myself as an artist, and through that, communicating things that are important to me and things that I wanna say," said Silas, er, Parrish. "Music that takes you to another place, and has some sort of deeper impact on what you do with your day, with your life, with your moment-to-moment decisions—that's the music I'm interested in."
