Leto Back in Movies, Artifiact Up for Honors

LETO ON SCREEN: Thirty Seconds to Mars frontman Jared Leto will return to the screen for the first time in five years when he co-stars in The Dallas Buyer’s Club, an AIDS drama with Matthew McConaughey and Jennifer Garner. Leto will play a flamboyant cross-dresser with HIV who helps McConaughey’s main character, a Texas electrician diagnosed with AIDS and given six months to live who smuggles alternative drugs into the U.S. In other news, the Leto-directed documentary Artifact (which he helmed under the name Bartholomew Cubbins) is one of five films that have made it to the final round of IFP's Gotham Independent Film Audience Award contest along with the critically acclaimed Beasts of the Southern Wild.
