TCW album announcement

THE CANNON ARE LOADED: Just moments ago, at high noon Nashville time, The Civil Wars and manager/sensibility label head Nate Yetton spread the word via social media that the group’s eagerly awaited second album will be released soon by Columbia. We can tell because there’s a Columbia logo on the announcement. The label emerged victorious following an industrywide pursuit of the self-titled album from, in partnership with sensibility. Just about every major label jumped on the bandwagon after hearing the completed record, which has drawn raves across the board, one label head marveling, “It’s an absolute stunner, an instant classic.” The deal was made by Columbia chief Rob Stringer and L.A.-based A&R hitter Mark Williams. We can’t wait to hear it, and neither can you. For now, go directly to thecivilwars.com… or wait a little while—the excitement surrounding the announcement has generated enough traffic to temporarily crash the band's servers. (5/1a)
