VIDEO BIRTHS THE LITERARY STARS: Original MTV VJs Mark Goodman, Martha Quinn, Alan Hunter and Nina Blackwood have co-authored VJ: The Unplugged Adventures of MTV’s First Wave, published today by Simon & Schuster imprint Atria Books. The foursome collaborated with Rolling Stone writer Gavin Edwards on the book, and made the media rounds, including a stop at Howard Stern this morning, where Goodman told about daling meth in high school and snorting coke with David Lee Roth and Quinn recalled her romance with the late Stiv Bators and a disastrous bowling date with KISS’ Paul Stanley. The fifth original VJ, J.J. Jackson, passed away from a heart attack in 2004. Craig Marks and Rob Tannenbaum’s 2011 oral history, I Want My MTV, was recently acquired for a film adaptation by Brett Ratner. (5/7p)
