CBGB Film

THIS AIN'T NO PARTY: The CBGB movie will be released--through new U.S. rights-holder XLrator Media--at the CBGB Music Festival, which goes down 10/9-10/13 in NYC. The Randall Miller (Bottle Shock)-directed flick, chronicling the Manhattan nightspot that helped give birth to the American punk/new wave scene, stars two Harry Potter fixtures, Alan Rickman (as founder-proprietor Hilly Kristal) and Rupert Grint (as Cheetah Chrome of the Dead Boys). Also in the cast: Malin Ackerman (as Blondie's Debbie Harry), Joel David Moore (as Joey Ramone) Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins as Iggy Pop and some young actors you more or may not have heard of as David Byrne, Tom Verlaine, Patti Smith, Legs McNeil and other key figures. "The whole family can jump in the mosh pit together for this one," XLrator Media CEO Barry Gordon proclaimed, "whatever that means. Now who the fuck brought me this half-caf vanilla swirl soy latte? I said HAZELNUT swirl, goddammit!" (5/30p)
