Eminem single tease

IN OTHER MATHERS, UPDATE: "Let's take it back to straight hip-hop and start it from scratch." So begins Eminem's "Berzerk," our second taste (after "Survival," now heard in Call of Duty: Ghosts) from The Marshall Mathers LP 2, due out 11/5 on Aftermath/Interscope. The rapper premiered the track on his SiriusXM show, Shade 45; it became available on iTunes at 12am EST today and is now #1 on the singles chart. Em clearly asked producer Rick Rubin for the old-school Run-DMC/Beasties shit, because this track grabs a fat guitar-rock hit (in this case Billy Squier's "The Stroke"), slicing and dicing its hooks with a stylus and letting the erstwhile Slim Shady run amok on top. It's in the rambunctious mode of his earliest work, so turn it up. (8/27a)
