Gordon Gano/Ivana

STOP TO CHECK YOU OUT: On the heels of the Violent Femmes' triumphant reunion at last year's Coachella after a four-year hiatus, the band will be headlining Central Park this Thursday night (the band's first appearance in NYC since 2004), and playing Riot Fest in Chicago on Saturday. In related news, Femmes frontman/songwriter Gordon Gano recently inked an admin deal with Rich Christina at SonyATV. Gano-penned classics like "Add It Up," "Kiss Off" and "Blister in the Sun" should now have a second life in film and TV. Our own Ivana still has a cassette copy of the band's demos, was the first college-radio MD to play the band's music and booked the band's first Cleveland show (during a snowstorm), information which is of no value to anyone but her.
