Ariana/Beats

SHE’S GOT THE BEATS: Ariana Grande, whose sophomore Republic album, My Everything, streets on 8/25, will be the beneficiary of a multi-faceted Beats by Dre/Beats Music campaign as part of her rollout. The pint-sized belter, who currently has three songs in the Top 20 at Pop radio—the #1 global iTunes singles “Problem,” "Break Free" f/Zedd and the current #1, "Bang Bang"—will be featured in an upcoming Beats by Dre Target ad campaign. The video for “Break Free” (which could be released as earlier as this week) prominently features both Beats Music and Beats by Dre. A “Beat by Beat” video, jointly created by Beats Music and Beats by Dre, features collaborators Ryan Tedder and Benny Blanco joining her to discuss single “Why Try,” which drops on street date. Beats Music exec Julie Pilat’s enthusiasm for Ariana began while she was at KIIS-FM, where she was crucial to the breakout of the diva’s first album; Pilat approached Republic EVP and marketing mastermind Charlie Walk this time out, and the two designed this extensive co-branding initiative.
