Michael McDonald signs Childish Gambino

THE NAME GAME: Michael McDonald’s Mick Management has signed Childish Gambino while forming a partnership with the ironically named Wolf & Rothstein—founded by Gambino alter ego Donald Glover, manager Chad Taylor (who goes by The Wolf) and Fam Udeorji (credited as A&R, creative director and executive producer on Gambino’s Glassnote album because the internet). Got that so far? Taylor and Udeorji are joining Mick Management and will be part of the company’s West Coast expansion as it opens an L.A. office. Said McDonald, “We believe that an artist’s team is an extended family where dedication to creativity and growth is crucial. Together with my partners Jonathan Eshak and Rich Cohen, Fam and Chad share that same ethos. We are thrilled to be going into business with this team and look forward to many future successes.” Taylor called Mick “the perfect home for us. This feels like 'lift off,' and we are all very excited about the partnership.” But who is Rothstein? (8/5a)
