MIXER, THE REMIX: Clear Channel’s music summit cocktail party atop NYC’s Dream hotel was hosted by Tom Poleman and Bob Pittman. In his brief remarks, Pittman discussed CC’s extraordinary reach--exceeding that of Univision, BET and Facebook among Latin, African-American and millennial listeners, respectively—while underscoring that a love of music lies at the root of everything the company does. Poleman spoke about the On The Verge program and the iHeart Awards, both of which had been inaugurated in the year since the last meetings, and noted CC’s success with acts such as Sam Smith and Iggy Azalea. He also announced that the iHeart Awards would return to NBC on 3/29. He shouted out to CC prexy John Sykes, who was in the audience, as were all the company's programming heavyweights from across the country. "Fantastic event, Tom," Pittman remarked to Poleman when their speeches concluded. "But I'm feeling a little claustrophobic in here, so I'm gonna go hang out on my jet." Later, Poleman signed an autograph for a plucky young fan from Baltimore. (8/8a)
