Doug's Disruptor Deal

THIS JUST DISRUPTING: Sony Music chief Doug Morris is said to have inked an artist-development deal with Disruptor, a new management/label hybrid founded by Adam Alpert. The pact will see Disruptor releases distributed by Sony, with the management side also serving as an A&R feeder and source of potential future JVs. Alpert co-founded DJ/producer-management firm 4AM, best known for repping The Chainsmokers, whose “#SELFIE” became a bona fide phenomenon early this year, first blowing up on the socials and then flying at retail and radio. Alpert’s A&R instincts and marketing finesse are said to have struck a chord with Morris; an announcement is expected soon. (8/26p)
