Music Choice to Bow Custom Music Service for Digital Cable Homes

Music Choice, an interruption-free music service delivered to 30 million households via television, has introduced My Music Choice, which will give digital cable subscribers the ability to construct custom music channels.

This service is fully integrated with, and available on, the SeaChange video-on-demand platform. Utilizing the video-on-demand infrastructure, Music Choice viewers can create music channels in less than one minute by scrolling through a few television screens that prompt them to pick music genres and sub-genres, along with the mix for each genre on their channel. This music service will give consumers the power to customize music channels on their television, with access 24/7.

With My Music Choice, consumers can build music channels that include up to three of their favorite music genres, such as Classic R&B, Rap and Gospel.

In addition, they are offered a list of approximately eight sub-genres in each music genre to pick from to ensure their music channel delivers the music they are most interested in hearing. For example, the Classic R&B music channel offers the following sub-genres to select from: ‘60s, ‘70s Soul, ‘80s, Ballads, Disco/Club, Funk and Motown.
