WEEK IN PREVIEW:
MUSIQ’S THE MAN

Celine Has a Mother of a Week Too
Looks like buyers heard the Musiq this week.

The sophomore set from the Def Soul/IDJ singer is headed for a runaway #1 debut on the HITS Album Chart. The week’s other big bow will be Lauryn Hill, who returns with MTV Unplugged 2.0 (Columbia), and should land in the Top Five.

Beyond that, moms around the country got flowers, brunch and a copy of Celine Dion’s A New Day Has Come (Epic), and the record will see a nice bump from that. We love you mom, and we promise to call more often.

Streeting this week are Moby (V2), Weezer (Interscope), a P.Diddy remix album (Bad Boy/Arista) and Cam’ron (Roc-A-Fella/IDJ).

The muthas in radio love their moms too, if it helps get spins upped. Those PoMo Einsteins say it’s all about the Dave Matthews Band. The track leaked on Friday, so RCA moved the add date up a week, and it will be Most Added. ArtistDirect’s Custom should have a solid week as well. In Top 40, Columbia’s Will Smith should get jiggy with Most Added, followed by Wind-up’s Creed and a nice showing by nice guy Moby. It’s also the first official add week for Capitol’s Dirty Vegas, who should pop and lock down a lot of adds. At XO, Most Added should also be Will Smith, with cleanup on Eminem—who looks like Most Added at Urban. Rounding out the formats, Geffen’s Counting Crows look to roost at APM, and in Rock there will be a lot of early adds on Interscope’s TRUSTcompany and Arista’s Adema, ahead of next week’s official add dates. Maybe you could give mom the Adema record for her birthday.
