Spider-Man (Roadrunner/IDJ/ Columbia/SMS) and Vanessa Carlton’s Be Not Nobody (A&M/Interscope) are headed for the Top 5—the former obviously powered by the movie’s record-shattering $114 million opening weekend and the growing airplay story for the Chad Kroeger/Josey Scott winner "Hero."

WEEK IN PREVIEW:
BIG TYMERS TO BOW #1

Strong Debuts from Spider-Man, Vanessa Carlton, Plus Some Radio Stuff
Damn, fools, if you thought we were kidding about Cash Money/Universal’s Big Tymers coming out strong with a #1 debut, guess again. Indeed, it looks like the Tymers will be faster on the draw than Country Kenny Chesney this week, lassoing the top chart position and relegating No Shoes, No Shirt, No Problem (BNA) to #2.

Meanwhile, both Spider-Man (Roadrunner/IDJ/Columbia/SMS) and Vanessa Carlton’s Be Not Nobody (A&M/Interscope) are headed for the Top 5—the former obviously powered by the movie’s record-shattering $114 million opening weekend and the growing airplay story for the Chad Kroeger/Josey Scott winner "Hero."

Speaking of radio, our Top 40 brainiacs tell us that, even more than "Hero" busting out all over, Eminem’s "Without Me" (Interscope) is dominating the early going. The track is breaking big at multiple formats, proving that the thirst for Slim Shady is as strong as ever.

In addition to Eminem, Crossover is watching the new Nelly continue to blow up; John Mayer is finally crossing from Adult formats after a big buildup; Avril Lavigne is going at Top 40, following in the footsteps of Michelle Branch and Vanessa Carlton; and Anastacia is making U.S. inroads following international success.

In Post Modern and Rock, it’s all about Papa Roach, whose "She Loves Me Not" is infesting airwaves in force this week. Butch Walker, Riddlin' Kids and Doves are also ones to watch.

Also on the radio radar: All Infinity programmers are in New York today to meet with new boss John Sykes. Stay tuned.

And hitting the streets Tuesday are new albums from Musiq (sans Soulchild), whose Juslisen (Universal) is expected to bow big, and Lauryn Hill, who makes her return with MTV Unplugged No. 2.0 (Columbia).
