The 20-date tour kicks off February 21 in Austin, TX. So far, 15 shows for the band's first tour in four years have sold out, including stops in N.Y., L.A., S.F. and Chicago.
Tickets for Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Tampa, FL, Kansas City, MO, Columbia, MO, and Denver stops are still available on the official Yahoo! Outloud site, as well as through Ticketmaster.
The teaming of Weezer and Yahoo! gave fans the chance to purchase discounted commemorative tickets. The partnership will continue with the February 1 launching of Yahoo! Outloud's Weezer features, which will include a Digital Tour Diary, exclusive footage of the band, clips and interviews and live and on-demand webcasts. In addition, the site will host a "Win A Chance To Polish River Cuomo's Horn-Rimmed Glasses"competition.
Said Yahoo! Entertainment Brand Manager Tiffany Hein: "We have been able to leverage the vast Yahoo! network to target our desired audience of college students with a specially priced ticket that is sensitive to their budget. The success of this program has satisfied everyone—the promoters have sold out shows and fans were able to buy affordable tickets without the hassle of standing in line. Overall, the response has been unprecedented. And fans saved enough money to buy a new outfit from the Salvation Army to wear to the concert."
