GetMedia Inc., which specializes in facilitating the impulse-buying of music heard via broadcast, has pacted with Net, cable and satellite MSP Music Choice to sell CDs by the latter's featured artists through GetMedia's "Now Playing" music stores.
In exchange for a portion of revenues, GetMedia will handle e-commerce for Music Choice and its affiliates from soup to nuts, including fulfillment, maintenance, customer service and returns. The B2B outfit will also provide music-player and search-engine capacities. Listeners will be able to search and browse while listening to Music Choice's streaming, format-specific music channels and buy what they like.
Declared GetMedia Chairman/Founder Robert Goldman: "GetMedia is excited about this partnership because of Music Choice's solid presence in all aspects of their business. Our e-commerce solution is applicable to all forms of new media, and this partnership is further proof of GetMedia's capability to provide a successful alternative revenue stream. Plus, their light-jazz channel is the only thing that calms me down during my pre-lunch rages."
