Online Music Company Purchases Concert Series, Hoping To Provide Net Execs Access To Girls

Launch Media has purchased the Warped tour, a popular punk-oriented summer concert series.

The acquisition allows Launch to deliver unique integrated sponsorship opportunities to its partners, leveraging the strategic breadth of both its online and offline properties. Additionally, the tour will afford Launch the opportunity to supplement existing marketing efforts in reaching a specific demographic. It will also enable Launch to hang out with that dreamy bass player it met last summer.

Launch will maintain an on-site presence at the concerts and simultaneously take on the responsibility of promoting, marketing and selling sponsorships for the tour.

As part of the deal, the tour's official website, warpedtour.com, will become one of Launch's online properties and ultimately will become a year-round music destination.

As in previous years, Vans, who joined the founders as an owner of the tour in 1996, will be this summer's title sponsor.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
