Xtra Mile/Epitaph/Polydor/Interscope artist Frank Turner steps up with the witty, bouncy "Recovery," from his major-label bow, Tape Deck Heart, which streeted 4/23.
"Recovery" is on a regular binge at Modern Rock and Triple A, with SiriusXM's Alt Nation and Spectrum, WQKL, 98.7, KROQ, WKQX, WXRT, KFOG, KITS and many more on board. Then there's the track's charming video, which has scored a million VEVO views and is on at MTV, mtvU, MTV2 and fuse. The Brit tunesmith will bring his folk-punk party to clubs around the U.S. starting on 6/3.
Next up comes 4AD's The National with "Don't Swallow the Cap," which is happening at PoMo and Triple A outlets including SiriusXM Alt Nation and Spectrum, WXRT, WRNR, KRBZ and WEQX. The vid for the new song is in pre-production now, but the band's "Sea of Love" clip earned 325k within six days of its VEVO premiere.
The National's national tour includes stops at New York's Barclays (6/5), Bonnaroo (6/16), L.A.'s Greek (8/10) and Austin City Limits (10/4, 10/11). The new album, Trouble Will Find Me, streets 5/21; the band will play both Letterman and Colbert that week.
What else is up in Vibe? Well, you'll note Vampire Weekend has vaulted to the #2 position as it eyes a chart-topping bow next week. Meanwhile, Emeli Sande and Walk Off the Earth both post nice gains over the previous week. For the whole Vibe story, go here.
