Lava/Republic’s Lorde will be the new #1 at Alternative on Monday with her smash hit “Royals,” which has the potential for a long run at the top spot.

RADIO CHART PREVIEW:
THE HEY-BUDDY SYSTEM

What's Happening on the Mediabase Top 40, Rhythmic and Alternative Charts, and Us Drinking Alone

Hey, Buddy! Let's take a look at what kind of radio action we can expect next week at three key formats, thanks to the good folks at Mediabase.

TOP 40
Not much change this week in the world of Top 40 Music. Robin Thicke's summer smash “Blurred Lines” stays at #1 with an impressive 2000x lead. Capital Cities (Capitol) and Miley Cyrus’ “We Can’t Stop” (RCA) keep growing and are just outside the Top 10. Columbia's One Direction will have another 1000x week gain with “Best Song Ever.” Other winners include Republic’s Enrique Iglesias and Epic’s Bonnie McKee, who will see 600x increases. “Wake Me Up” by PRMD/Island/IDJ's Avicii will debut on the chart also, up over 600x.

RHYTHMIC
Drake
rockets onto the chart with “Hold On, We're Going Home” (Young Money/Cash Money/Republic). Jay Z’s “Holy Grail” (Roc-a-Fella/Roc Nation), Justin Timberlake’s “Take Back the Night”(RCA), J. Cole’s “Crooked Smile” (Roc Nation/Columbia) and “We Can’t Stop” by Miley Cyrus (RCA) are all posed for large increases. Big Sean’s “Beware” continues to build momentum as well.

ALTERNATIVE
Lava/Republic’s Lorde will be the new #1 on Monday with her smash hit “Royals,” which has the potential for a long run at the top spot. Virgin’s Bastille will enter the Top 10 with “Pompeii.” Kings Of Leon (RCA) are having a nice week with “Supersoaker,” as the track is over 100x for the week and looks to be Top 10 real soon. Phoenix keeps growing with their latest, “Trying To Be Cool” (Glassnote). Other winners include Virgin’s Thirty Seconds To Mars’ “City Of Angels,” which it will have a big move to #30 up over 125x, and Naked & Famous’ “Hearts Like Ours” (Republic). NONONO's “Pumpin’ Blood” (Warner Bros.) is super-close to charting.

Well, that was fun, wasn't it? Now if you'll excuse us, we're going to "add" some new content at UMPG's Santa Monica offices.
