MARKETSHARE:

COUNTRY 10.1 | OVERALL 1.2

Borchetta’s Big Machine started the year with a little act you might’ve heard of named Taylor Swift, and has since seen two young acts, Brett Young and Midland, achieve ACMs glory in the wake of radio and sales booms. New signing Riley Green, meanwhile, has ginned up a deafening buzz throughout Music City. Nobody has stood up for new rock like Borchetta or John Varvatos, his partner in inking such blazing guitar-slingers as Badflower(now exploding at radio, with newly anointed BMLG/Varvatos SVP Head of Promo Heather Luke simply kicking ass), Pretty Vicious and (via CumulusneXt2rock) Ivory Black. Big Machine Music, Borchetta’s pub arm, upped Mike Molinar to GM, and TV venture The Launch (in partnership with Bell Media) had its, um, launch via Sony Pictures Television. (It should be noted that BMLG’s marketshare does not include Taylor, but that shouldn’t affect anyone’s reputation.)
