BURNETT TO KEYNOTE AMERICANA FEST
3/31/16

T Bone Burnett will deliver the keynote speech at the Americana Music Festival & Conference, which runs 9/20-25 at the Sheraton Nashville Downtown Hotel.

Winner of an Oscar, a Golden Globe and 13 Grammys, Burnett has earned a reputation as a first-rate artist, record producer, composer, performer, record company owner and artist advocate.

Outspoken about sound quality, preservation and artists’ rights, Burnett recently wrote in favor of the Fair Play Fair Pay Act in a Washington Post op-ed, concluding “Music is an important part of who we are, an indelible record of what we care about and how we live. And if we let that slip away — whether through legal gridlock, cultural apathy or technological drift — we will have lost something irreplaceable and fundamental to our lives.”

Information on the Jed Hilly-led Americana Music Association's confab is available here.

In a related story, Donald Trump has declared that Americana is not American enough, and also that if he were in charge there would be Porterhouse in addition to T Bone.
