THE BALL STREET JOURNAL

The race is on for the next #1. Columbia’s Russ & Bia with “Best on Earth” vs Epic’s Future & Drake (Freebandz) with “Life Is Good.” Both are deserving of a #1 for sure and are up over 550 spins this week. It’s much too close to call at this point.

Columbia’s John Stazza and James White have the pedal to the metal this week. Russ has been on the chart for 15 weeks and has been a very steady performer. This would be Russ’ very first #1 record. Good luck to both labels! Lil Nas X’s “Rodeo” is up 90 spins and officially enters the Top 25. Columbia also has Baby Keem’s “Orange Soda” at #41 this week.

Epic’s Rick Sackheim and Dontay Thompson have the Future & Drake at #3, and it looks like a matter of when, not if, this one goes #1. It is up 620 spins and shows no signs of slowing down. They also have Black Eyed Peas X J. Balvin’s "RITMO (Bad Boys for Life)” at #12, gaining 160 spins. Camila Cabello’s “My Oh My” f/DaBaby is now #18, and they debut Flipp Dinero’s “How I Move” at #40 and up 50 spins. Jackboys’ “Out West” is a week or so away from a debut, landing at #47 and up 150 spins. Yo Gotti’s “H.O.E.” gains 60 spins and is now at #50. D Munoz’s “Drink” is still developing.

Over at Interscope, Nino Cuccinello has blackbear’s “hot girl bummer” at #10, and still up triple digits. Trevor Daniel’s “Falling” enters the top 15 and is up 210 spins. Right behind is Summer Walker’s “Come Thru” f/Usher. She sees an increase of 230 spins. Eminem’s “Godzilla” climbs inside the top 25 thanks to another 215-spin gain.

Davey Dee and Garrett Ream at Republic have another solid week with The Weeknd’s “Blinding Lights” (XO) as he climbs to #14 and is up 415 spins. Skip Marley’s “Slow Down” leaps #36-30 and gains 60 spins. Karol G & Nicki Minaj’s “Tusa” is up 60 spins and climbs #36-30 this week. Lil Wayne’s “I Do It” comes in at #34, and they debut Kiana Lede’s “Mad at Me” at #39. They impacted The Weeknd’s new “After Hours” and it’s off to a great start. It is up 255 spins and is a week away from a debut.

Over at RCA, Lori G and Inca continue to run H.E.R.’s “Slide” up the chart. She moves #12-8, thanks to a 380-spin jump. Doja Cat’s “Say So” (Kemosabe) climbs to #21, thanks to a 355-spin injection. Khalid X Disclosure’s “Know Your Worth” is up 80 spins and lands at #28. Usher’s “Don’t Waste My Time” is just getting started and is at #45 this week. It’s up 125 spins and should debut next week. BROCKHAMPTON’s “SUGAR” is still developing.

Def Jam’s Noah Sheer sees Justin Bieber’s “Intentions” f/Quavo continue to climb the chart. It’s up an incredible 620 spins and leaps #23-17. Jhené Aiko’s “OTW” gains 140 spins and is now at #52. YG’s “Konclusions” is also just getting started and is #53 this week. Def Jam drops Danileigh latest, “Levi High” f/Da Baby, this week.

Geffen’s Lee L’Heuruex has Rod Wave’s “Heart on Ice” at #22. It was up a solid 150 spins and research is starting to come in. He also has J.I. The Prince of NY’s “Need Me” already at #60. Make sure you check this one out.

Capitol’s Dixie Tipton works her magic and has Lil Baby’s “Whoa” inside the Top 10. He was up 230 spins. She also has Migos’ “Give No Fxk” f/Travis Scott rocketing inside the Top 25 in just two weeks. It was 610 spins and looks to continue its roll.
