HITS presents a brand-new feature on the agents who work behind the scenes to help get your favorite tours up and running. Do they want to deal with us? We're pretty sure that's a no. But ready or not, here comes...
Mike Greek: Music Agent/Co-Head, U.K., CAA
Winner of Agent of The Year at the European Festival Awards and Second Least Most Offensive Agent at the International Live Music Conference, Greek—along with longtime colleague Emma Banks—joined CAA nearly 20 years ago and established the agency’s London office. Since, he's helped transform the company’s international music business into one of the entertainment industry’s most highly regarded entities.
A long-suffering fan of Tottenham Hotspurs and a very poor golfer, Greek oversees a roster that includes Harry Styles, Niall Horan, HAIM, OneRepublic, Sam Smith, Tate McRae, The Script, Thirty Seconds to Mars, Sigur Rós, Westlife, Zara Larsson and Paloma Faith.
He began booking and promoting events as a college student at De Montford University, leading to an early '90s agency job at Wasted Talent, which became Helter Skelter.
And now, two questions:
What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever received?
If you don’t buy a ticket, you can't win the raffle.
Favorite concert you ever attended?
R.E.M., 1/23/2005. The opening of the Sazka Arena in Prague.
