8/24/20

The Killers look set to score their sixth U.K. #1 album with Imploding The Mirage (EMI) outselling the entire Top 20 combined at the halfway point. Over on singles, BTS’s “Dynamite” (Big Hit) is currently leading the way.

Imploding The Mirage has racked up 44,000 chart sales so far and is close to becoming the fastest-selling album of 2020. Lady Gaga’s Chromatica (Polydor) currently holds that title with 53,000 first-week sales.

Erasure’s The Neon (Mute) is #2 and set to become their highest-charting album in 26 years. Liverpool singer-songwriter Jamie Webster rounds out an all-new midweek Top 3 with his debut, We Get By (Modern Sky).

Scottish group The Waterboys are on track to mark their first time in the Top 10 since June 1993 as Good Luck Seeker (Cooking Vinyl) starts at #6.

Indie rock group Bright Eyes are eyeing their highest-charting album ever with Down in the Weeds, Where the World Once Was (Dead Oceans) at #11, Troye Sivan’s new EP, In A Dream (Universal), is new at #13 and Nas is aiming for his seventh U.K. Top 40 album with King’s Disease (Mass Appeal) at #20.

On the U.K.’s Official Singles midweeks “Dynamite” takes an early lead with 1.7m streams so far. British rapper Headie One could also be making his strongest chart debut yet this week with “Ain’t It Different” (Relentless) currently at #4. The track features AJ Tracey and Stormzy and serves as the lead single from his upcoming debut album, Edna.
