WHAT IT IS: “Girls Your Age,” the first song from this L.A.-based quartet—vocalist Sarah McTaggart, multi-instrumentalist Michael Panek, drummer Jonathan Garcia and guitarist Judah McCarthy—popped online last summer, announcing their arrival. The track gained instant online traction, with Sarah’s sultry, measured, assured vocal at once recalling Lana, Lorde and Imogen Heap. Katy Perry praised the lyrics, Harry Styles tweeted his support, Ellie Goulding selected it for a spin on Beats 1 and Twin Shadow delivered an exclusive remix. Their four-song, eponymous EP further underscores what’s in store. Expect an album this summer.
