A HYDE DAY'S NIGHT

Bruce Springsteen and Billy Joel performed for upward of 70,000 people last week as part of London's British Summer Time Hyde Park concert series. And they both incorporated some Beatles into their sets; Joel opted for "A Hard Day's Night," while The Boss chose "Twist & Shout."

Of course, there were plenty of other magical moments, one of which occurred when Joe Jonas joined Joel for his 1983 single "Uptown Girl" during his Friday (7/7) set.

Springsteen and the E-Street Band captivated the crowd with three hours of career-spanning hits on Thursday (7/6). Jon Bon Jovi, Roger Federer, Stella McCartney, Katy Perry, Orlando Bloom, Emma Thompson, Bob Geldof and Rami Malek were among the many celebrities spotted during his 28-song performance. The Boss returned on Saturday (7/8) for another three-hour marathon, which had us questioning our own physical fitness.

With more than 550k in total attendance, nearly every show sold out. Additional acts included P!NK, Guns N’ Roses, Take That, BLACKPINK and Lana Del Rey.

A slew of AEG Presents execs were on deck, too, including CEO Jay Marciano, AEG President/CEO Dan Beckerman, AEG Europe President/CEO Alex Hill, AEG Asia President/CEO Adam Wilkes and Chief Digital Officer Brooke Kain, plus bonus CAA Music head Rob Light.

AEG CEO of European Festivals Jim King curated this year's stellar lineup. Speaking to HITS in June, he mentioned that there is still at least one artist on his Hyde Park bucket list: "It would be lovely if Ed Sheeran would come and play in our environment rather than playing stadiums one summer," he said. "There’s a number of younger artists coming through who you hope will grow into that space where they're able to sell 65,000 tickets and enjoy that process and the experience."

King made us promise we wouldn't come.
