WARNER TAKES IT TO THE MAX

Stefan Max, who joined Warner Records 13 months ago and has had a smash with his first signing, Sub Urban, has been promoted to Senior Vice President of A&R.

“Stefan’s track record and tenacity in signing great artists, and his skill in unlocking that talent in the studio, separates him from the pack,” said Co-Chairman & CEO Aaron Bay-Schuck. “Stefan thinks and speaks the language of music creatives, and he’s an invaluable member of our A&R team.”

A 10-year veteran at WMG, he got his start as Director of A&R for Roadrunner Records where he signed Young the Giant. He moved to Atlantic in 2012 as Vice President of A&R, and joined Warner Records in February 2019.

He recently signed Junior Varsity and Mayvis, and is working on the upcoming album from Gorillaz. Max previously signed Vance Joy whom he still produces and works with today.
