"WEIGHT" FOR CHANGE

Robbie Robertson led a collection of musicians across five continents and a handful of islands on a rendition of The Band’s “The Weight” for the charity org Playing for Change. Ringo Starr handles Levon Helm’s duties.

Ten countries are represented in the video that honors a song that Playing for Change said “transcends time and space.” “Great songs can travel everywhere, bridging what divides us and inspiring us to see how easily we all get along when the music plays.”

For anyone who wondered if “The Weight” would sound good on an oud or a sitar, the answer is yes.
