"Now that you're with us," Glassnote chief Daniel Glass informs newly inked Australian band The Teskey Brothers, "you'll be standing under marquees like this one everywhere you go. I'm talking the gym, the shoe store, your friend's house—wherever you are, my team will be holding a giant, lighted sign with your name on it directly over your heads. It takes some getting used to, believe you me."

We kid, of course; Daniel said none of that stuff, though he did declare, "The Teskey Brothers are SOUL." The Melbourne-bred troupe, whose work recalls the warm, gritty vibe of the Stax/Volt school, won a brace of Music Victoria Awards in 2017 for debut set Half Mile Harvest.
