BEY, JAY-Z, SHEERAN TO HONOR MANDELA

Beyonce, Jay-Z, Ed Sheeran, Eddie Vedder and others will celebrate the life and legacy of Nelson Mandela at the Global Citizen Festival in Johannesburg, South Africa, in December.

The three-day Global Citizen Festival: Mandela 100 will be staged at the FNB Stadium, serving as the final event of Mandela 100, Global Citizen's collaboration with the House of Mandela. Oprah Winfrey will deliver the keynote address; Sir Bob Geldof, Gayle King, Tyler Perry and Forest Whitaker are the hosts.

Usher, Chris Martin and Pharrell Williams have also been announced as performers for the 12/2 concert. Among the African acts on the bill are Cassper Nyovest, D'banj, Femi Kuti, Sho Madjozi and Tiwa Savage.

The Mandela 100 campaign, with the goal of ending extreme poverty, is attempting to raise $1b for programs related to health, hunger and education.
