SOUNDCLOUD BACKS EUROPEAN TALENT

SoundCloud is putting some marketing weight behind six independent acts out of the U.K. and Germany as part of its First on SoundCloud emerging talent support program, which first arrived in the U.S. earlier this year. In London, ads will appear at Ebor Street and Great Eastern Street Gallery in the Shoreditch neighborhood.

In addition to the outdoor advertising, the acts, which all fall into the dance, electronic and hip-hop genres, will be highlighted within the SoundCloud app, social media feeds, website and newsletters.

Those six acts are:

House DJ Claptone who released his latest album, Fantast, on [PIAS] in June;

Germany dance artist Jan Blomqvist (pictured) who released part one of his latest album, Disconnected, in May through Armada Music;

Rising British hip-hop act Jay Prince, who supported Chance the Rapper on the European leg of his Magnificent Coloring World Tour and dropped his latest EP, Cherish, in March via Cosa Nostra;

U.K. rapper Little Simz, who was crowned Breakthrough Artist of the Year at the BBC’s Worldwide Awards after self-releasing her second album, Stillness in Wonderland, last year;

Berlin-based producer Lotic who has an upcoming debut album, Power, out via Tri Angle;

And club artist Peggy Gou whose latest EP, Once, came out in March through Ninja Tune.
