PARLOPHONE'S DISTURBING DEVELOPMENT

Tinie Tempah’s Disturbing London has signed an exclusive partnership with WMUK imprint Parlophone Records. Parlophone will help widen the reach and grow Disturbing London, as well as find and break new talent and offer more global opportunities to its existing artists.

The imprint has new music on the way from rappers Yxng Bane, A2 and Tempah, who co-founded Disturbing London in 2006 with manager Dumi Oburota. Under the new deal, the label will continue to operate as a 360-degree entertainment company with brand partnerships, fashion and events.

“Disturbing London has firmly established itself as a visionary for British culture,” Mark Mitchell, Co-President at Parlophone said. “They have a genuine hunger to find and nurture new talent and opportunities, not just from within the U.K. but throughout the world.”

The label has enjoyed seven #1 singles with Tempah, three Top 10 albums and a multi- platinum debut album. Other names on its roster include DJ Charlsey and Wiz Kid.

Oburota added: “We’ve developed a huge influence in black music with some of the most exciting artists to emerge from grass roots culture in the U.K. This deal allows us to keep our indie roots but to be powered to new heights with similar global influence as Def Jam or Bad Boy Records. Mitch and his team at Parlophone totally get that we’re here to challenge in an unorthodox way, to keep it exciting for fans. We want to spread our culture further and to offer all our artists a much bigger, global stage.”
