U.K. CHARTS: SAM THRILLS AT #1 ON 97K

Sam Smith’s The Thrill of it All (Capitol) has debuted at #1 on the U.K.’s Official Albums Chart with 97k combined sales—just under the 102k his debut did first week in 2014. Over at singles, Camila Cabello is #1 for a second week with “Havana” (SYCO).

Smith’s sales were 64% physical, 21% downloads and 14% streaming equivalents. His first #1, In The Lonely Hour, has returned to the Top 20 this week at #15 while “Too Good at Goodbyes” rises three places to #3 on the Official Singles Chart.

Sony Music CG album, A Love So Beautiful from Roy Orbison and the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, finishes the week at #2.

Last week’s #1, Together Again (Decca) by Ball & Boe, slips to #3, followed by Ed Sheeran with ÷ rebounding from #6 to #4, and P!nk with Beautiful Trauma (RCA) at #5. The third highest new albums entry this week is from actress and singer Sheridan Smith, who lands at #9 with debut, Sheridan (East West). Bryan Adam’s retrospective Ultimate (Polydor) is at #11; and Maroon 5’s sixth album, Red Pill Blues (Interscope), ends at #12.

Over on the Official Singles Chart, continued consumption of Cabello’s “Havana” sees it finish 10k combined sales ahead of another streaming hit, “Rockstar” (Island) by Post Malone f/21 Savage. Despite taking second place, the latter is this week’s most streamed track.

Marshmello f/Khalid is at #4 with “Silence” (Ministry of Sound), while Rita Ora rises six places to #5 with “Anywhere” (Atlantic). This week’s highest new entry is the self-released “No Words” by rising grime artist Dave f/Mostack at #18.
