1945-2017

Longtime Heart manager Carol Peters died 9/18 at the age of 72. The cause was cancer.

Prior to entering artist management, Peters had a long and varied career as a marketing and promotions executive, starting at Ampex in Chicago, moving to London where she was instrumental in launching Deep Purple at Tetragrammaton Records and breaking Quiet Riot at Pasha Records. She also worked for Elektra, Capitol and Warner Bros. before moving into management.

She joined Left Bank Organization in 1976 where her first client was The Bee Gees; she also worked with John Mellencamp, The Go-Go’s and Blondie among others. Peters started working with Heart in 1999 and worked with the Wilson sisters during their resurgence that led to induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2013.

Her Peters Management Syndicate currently represents a half-dozen budding acts.

“Carol was my one and only Jewish mother,” Nancy Wilson wrote on Facebook. “She was a big ball of fire trapped in a very small package. We enjoyed many huge sweet and sour life experiences over the decades. She made everyone her family. “We were and always will be connected in a very timeless way. The most unforgettable woman I will always remember with utmost love and respect. She is an angel among the angels.”
