A MONUMENTAL MOMENT

In this classic shot, the great Fred Foster—the man behind Monument Records, whose story is recounted in the forthcoming second edition of our History of the Music Biz: The Mike Sigman Interviews—poses with the legendary Dolly Parton, with whom he’d worked since the beginning of her career. This pic dates from the ’70s, a decade in which a President resigned in disgrace and we were very wasted. Is history repeating itself? Yes, we’re still wasted.
