Intriguing subplots abound on this week’s Streaming Songs Chart, as the prolific Future strikes a blow—or 13 blows, to be accurate—on behalf of Sony Music, and UMG finds itself rooting for the Warner Music act Migos (who recently signed with Motown/Capitol), while Ultra’s Kygo is presently working for Interscope alongside Selena Gomez on the debuting “It Ain’t Me.” As a result of all this action, streaming marketshare has done the tighten-up, to paraphrase Archie Bell & the Drells: UMG 41%, Sony 34%, WMG 23%.
