APPLE REVS UP CARPOOL FOR APRIL

Apple Music has set an April premiere for James Corden’s Carpool Karaoke and is producing another series for the spring, Planet of the Apps, with former NBC Entertainment chief/producer Ben Silverman. As for the future of Apple Music’s video offerings, that’s anyone’s guess.

“Four years from now, I don’t know where we’re going to be in relation to this,” Apple’s content king Eddie Cue said at the Recode Media conference in Laguna Niguel. “We’re trying different things. How fast it grows or where it goes remains to be seen.”

Late Late Show with James Corden producer Ben Winston joined Cue to spell out a few details about Karaoke. Each episode will feature a pairing of celebrities—John Legend with Alicia Keys, Ariana Grande with Seth Macfarlane, Corden with Will Smith, who get out of the car for some extreme karaoke. They sing R. Kelly’s “I Believe I Can Fly” in a helicopter. What else?
