PROPHETS OF RAGE TO STAGE PROTEST CONCERT ON INAUGURATION DAY

“Bad presidents make for great music.”—Tom Morello

Prophets of Rage will host the Anti-Inaugural Ball Friday at L.A.’s Teragram, with guest performers including Chris Cornell, Vic Mensa, Jackson Browne, Jack Black and the Los Angeles Freedom Choir.

The pairing of Cornell with Prophets of Rage members Tom Morello, Tim Commerford and Brad Wilk marks the de facto reunion of Audioslave (pictured above) 11 years after the band’s last performance.

"The Anti-Inaugural Ball is a celebration of resistance, Morello stated. “Resistance to racism. Resistance to sexism. Resistance to homophobia. Resistance to bullying. Resistance to environmental devastation. Resistance to fascism. Resistance to Donald Trump. We are staring down the barrel of a dystopian nightmare unless we act now, unless we fight back now. We intend to create 'No Trump Zones' across the country; in our homes, our schools, our places of work and our concert stages. Bad presidents make for great music. Join us as we get loud and stand together to defend our rights, our country, and our planet."

Tickets for the Anti-Inaugural Ball, which went on sale at 5pm Tuesday, are now sold out. A portion of the proceeds will benefit RAINN (Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network).

The show will be livestreamed on Prophets of Rage's Facebook page.
