CALVIN CAN, BUT HE WON'T

Columbia EDM star Calvin Harris will no longer be releasing full-length albums, U.K. tabloid The Sun has reported. Apparently, he'll only be releasing singles from here on out, starting with "My Way," which Harris' Twitter account suggests is coming on Friday.

Can you blame the guy? In an age dominated by streaming and single sales, are artists—who've always made more money on the road, anyway—really benefiting from albums?

It's interesting to note that labelmates The Chainsmokers, for example, have yet to release a studio album, and their current single, "Closer"—featuring Halsey—has been #1 on our Revenue Chart for the last three weeks. The hit, which is arguably the "song of the summer," is also sitting at the top of Spotify's U.S., U.K. and global streaming charts.

BTW, Harris' single "This Is What You Came For," which features Rihanna, has sold north of 1m units since it dropped at the end of April, and it's still in the Top 15 on our Revenue Chart.
