TICKETFLY SNAGS TWO NYC CLUBS

Pandora Media’s ticketing service Ticketfly has secured two current Ticketmaster clients in New York, the Bowery Ballroom and the Mercury Lounge. The New York Times reported that the beloved clubs would make the switch on Sunday (5/1).

The deal not only brings two of New York’s strongest clubs into the Ticketfly fold, it extends the service’s reach into Manhattan where its key clients are Central Park SummerStage and Birdland. The company that promotes most of the shows at the clubs, Bowery Presents, is in talks to be acquired by AEG, which has its own ticketing service, AXS, though that will not affect the Ticketfly arrangement.

Ticketfly, founded in 2008, has been used mostly smaller venues. Pandora purchased it last year for $450m with a goal of enhancing its online marketing powers.
