ADELE’S SHAZAM GRAND SLAM

As New Single Explodes, Some Surprises Emerge From the Data

OK, so more people Shazamed Adele's "Hello" on its first day (about 200k) than any other track in the history of Shazam, and the track essentially beamed itself to #1 on the platform; it's now moved past the 1 million Shazams mark. So that's big.

Here are some rather more unexpected discoveries yielded by the data: 76% of one-day users were aged 13-34, and more men than women pointed their phones at "Hello."

The megastar is now "confirmed" on Shazam as well, so users can find out what music she's discovering.

Meanwhile, Adele has her work cut out for her if the forthcoming 25 is going to catch the album streams of ... Adele, who's had 23.8 million Shazams for her album 21 (and 38.5m overall).
