ADELE: X  MARKS
THE SPOT

And so it begins.

The following spot, which aired on the U.K.'s The X Factor Sunday night, offered the first taste of new music from the forthcoming Adele album, due (via XL/Columbia) on Nov. 20. The 30-second tease represents the initial look at a calculated strategic campaign in which less is more.

Placing the teaser on The X Factor U.K. is undeniably a cool way for the reigning Queen of Pop to reintroduce herself. Naturally, it became a trending topic moments after the spot ran.

Look for a single—which may or may not be the bittersweet ballad in the mysterious spot—to follow shortly. Adele's madly anticipated new album follows up the 11m-plus-selling 21—but you knew that unless you've been living in a cave for the last five years.
