The Highest Grossing Shows in NYC This Week

The King and I sees a nice bump on Broadway following the 4th of July weekend, while the rest of the top-grossing shows were down in sales. That being said, the changes were pretty minimal and the Top 10 remains relatively the same.

2. Wicked $1.86m
3. Aladdin $1.60m
4. The Book of Mormon $1.38m
5. An American in Paris $1.35m
6. The King and I $1.24m
7. Finding Neverland $1.09m
8. Something Rotten! $1.05m
9. Matilda $1.04m
10. The Phantom of the Opera $972k

In other stage-related news, Michael C. Hall recently signed on to star as the alien lead in Lazarus, the upcoming musical based on novel The Man Who Fell to Earth and co-created by David Bowie and Once novelist Enda Walsh. You may recall that Bowie himself starred in the 1976 screen adaptation.

Performances kick off 11/18 at New York Theatre Workshop, and opening night is set for 12/7.
