DARAB TO CULTIVATE TOWER'S VINE

Veteran Exec Will Step in as SVP Marketing at CMG, Overseeing

Capitol Music Group has tapped Mitra Darab as SVP Marketing, reporting to EVP Greg Thompson.

The industry vet, who previously served as VP of Marketing at Warner Bros. for nearly a decade, will lead the “Vine” group overseeing marketing and digital on Sam Smith, Five Seconds of Summer, Tori Kelly and other artists.

Thompson proclaimed that the Tower team “is thrilled to welcome Mitra to the Capitol family.” For her part, Darab said, “I've known Steve Barnett for nearly a decade, and I always hoped I'd get the opportunity to work with him. I am truly excited about joining him, Greg Thompson, Michelle Jubelirer and the entire Capitol team during such an exciting time for the company, and look forward to helping CMG continue its resurgence in the years ahead.”

Darab began her career in the Geffen Records Sales department as an executive assistant/advertising coordinator in 1996.
