RCA'S JV WITH DERULO'S LABEL KICKS OFF WITH A "CHINGALINGA"

RCA has inked a JV with Jason Derulo's Future History Records. The imprint, co-helmed by Derulo and manager Frank Harris, will issue "Chingalinga" by siren Alyxx Dione (featuring Derulo) as its maiden release on 4/6. In a joint statement, RCA rulers Peter Edge and Tom Corson declared their label family "thrilled" with the partnership, praising Derulo's star power and Harris as "an extremely savvy, strategic music-business man." For the record, "chingalinga" means more or less the same thing as "whatchamacallit." See? You learned something today.
