THE BIZ TAKES A SNOW DAY

With unprecedented blizzard conditions sweeping over the Eastern Seaboard, the East Coast music business—like most businesses, except for snowblower rentals—is “sheltering in place,” as newcasters like to say.

Terms like “devastating” and “crippling” are being thrown around to describe this latest example of how world weather patterns are in no way fucked up.

With up to three feet of snow expected to inundate the region, flights are grounded, public transit is suspended and/or drastically reduced, roads range from tricky to impassable and some outright travel bans are in place.

New York Mayor Bill De Blasio, who announced that “this could be the biggest snowstorm in the history of this city,” has ordered drivers off the road after 11pm tonight; trains in the metro area will be shut down as well.

We don’t mean to be dicks, but it’s really nice in L.A. right now, so we’re cranking out our usual, um, scintillating copy on our brand new site. Feel free to settle in under the duvet with a hot cup of booze and read along with us.
