Apple's iCloud?

PREVIEWING THE iCLOUD: Apple has held talks with the big studios on allowing users to store content purchased from the iTunes Store remotely on Apple's servers, similar to the cloud-based music plan the company recently discussed with the labels, CNET News.com reported. "Basically, they want to eliminate the hard drive," said one source., while others said the plan would see iTunes authorized to stream movies and TV shows directly to a range of online devices, obviously including the iPad. The story cited reports that Apple is building a new data center in North Carolina that would serve as the "backbone" of the planned streaming offerings. (3/4a)
