BIG APPLE IS RIGHT: Apple stock rode the iPad buzz on Friday to pass Walmart (note the dropping of the hyphen in the official company name) and snag the third-largest market capitalization in the U.S. At the lofty share price of $227.73, Apple's cap calculated to $206.5 billion, according to Digital Music News, whose numbers crunchers helpfully did the math. Apple shares closed at an all-time high of $226.60, hich calculates to a market cap of $205.48 billion. Walmart finished at $53.90, a cap of $205.09 billion.
