Nashville Floods

NASHVILLE HIT HARD: With the overflowing Cumberland River flooding Nashville, the city’s music landmarks are under siege. The Grand Ole Opry House and Hotel, the Country Music Hall of Fame and BP Field are all underwater, with the Opry not expected to re-open for six months, with scheduled shows being re-routed to other area venues. CMT's offices are also without power and will be closed through the end of the week. The floods have claimed the lives of 29 people in Tennessee, Mississippi and Kentucky, according to emergency officials. Among the displaced are country music stars Dierks Bentley and Julie Roberts, who have been driven from their homes, with water levels only now starting to recede. What this means for the upcoming CMA Music Fest is anybody's guess, including where everyone who comes to town will stay, with the city's biggest hotels shuttered. (5/4p)
