True Blood Vol. 2 ST

DEEP, DARK & DELICIOUS: Elektra will release a second volume of music from HBO’s sultry lycanthropic series True Blood on May 25, coinciding with the release of True Blood: The Complete Second Season on DVD and Blu-ray. Season Three of the series begins on June 13. The talent lineup put together by music supe/producer Gary Calamar, which falls somewhere between a more adult Twilight comp and programming on Sirius XM channel The Loft, includes Beck, Lucinda Williams with Elvis Costello, Thievery Corporation and Robbie Robertson, whose “How to Become Clairvoyant” was culled from the Hall of Famer’s first album of new material in 11 years. The sequence opens with a pair of Howlin’ Wolf covers, M. Ward’s “Howlin’ for My Baby” and Jace Everett & CC Adcock’s “Evil (Is Going On).” The 18-track deluxe version adds previously unreleased cuts from Stone Temple Pilots and Jakob Dylan, as well as Everett’s acoustic version of show’s theme song.
